HFT Engineering Lead

About the Role
As a Lead HFT Core Engineer, you will own the architecture and drive the development of a low-latency trading system where every microsecond matters. You will be responsible for defining and enforcing performance-critical design decisions across the core execution stack.
This role is deeply hands-on: you will operate at the intersection of systems design, performance engineering, and real-time trading constraints, while leading a team to deliver deterministic, predictable, and efficient systems under extreme conditions.
You will:
Own the architecture and implementation of the core trading engine: event loops, scheduling, and execution flow with strict latency budgets
Define cache-efficient, allocation-aware data models for order books, trades, positions, and state transitions
Lead the design of execution systems with minimal overhead: order lifecycle management, smart order routing, and real-time position tracking
Drive ultra-low-latency risk systems: pre-trade checks, exposure limits, kill-switches, and capital allocation with deterministic behavior
Architect capital routing and treasury systems optimized for speed and consistency: cross-venue allocation, internal netting, and efficient fund movement
Guarantee correctness and state consistency under high throughput, partial failures, and asynchronous environments
Continuously optimize critical paths: CPU cache locality, memory layout, lock contention, branch prediction, and syscall minimization
Set engineering standards around performance: benchmarking, profiling, latency instrumentation, and regression control
Work closely with research teams to eliminate abstraction overhead and ensure zero-cost integrations
Lead and mentor engineers with a strong focus on performance discipline, code quality, and system-level thinking
Own the evolution of the system from crypto markets (spot, perps) to multi-asset support (equities, futures, options) without compromising latency or determinism
About the Team
We are building a research lab first — and a proprietary investment fund around it. The core belief is that long-term trading edge comes from a systematic ability to generate, test, and compound research insights faster and more rigorously than the market.
The goal is to remove legacy constraints and rethink financial market forecasting using modern systems, new hardware paradigms, and frontier AI. The goal is to tightly integrate execution, research, and infrastructure into a single coherent system.

Strong experience building ultra-low-latency systems (HFT or comparable real-time environments)
Expert-level systems programming in C++ with a focus on performance-critical code
