SKU

SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit and it's a number associated with a product for inventory purposes. Even if you don't track your products by SKU you can use this field as a kind of second name field. You can choose to display the SKU field in your store or keep it hidden (see page layout). If it is hidden, it will only be displayed after the product has been ordered.
