Add Product
Creates a new product in your site and prompts you for the information about that product. All the fields except the name field are optional. Fill in only the information that you would like to display or otherwise record. Some fields, such as price, can be recorded but not displayed, for example if you would like to offer a free product.
Taxable?
If tax is not charged under any circumstances for this product, uncheck the taxable box.SKU:
If your products have a unit number associated with them, add it here. If you would like the products to be listed in the back office as SKU rather than name, you can make those changes known in the preferences section.
Graphic
Product graphics can be displayed next to or above the product text. If you wish the product graphic to appear on a seperate page, use the "more info page" section. (see below)Ordering Options
If you choose to have an options box, a text field will appear on the shopping cart page after the customer has ordered the item. Your option text will appear above that text field on the page instructing the customer to provide certain information. You can ask them to specify size or color or provide more specific information regarding their purchase.The "finite options" field is for you to specify options that will appear in a pull down menu for customers to select. If the product is a shirt which comes in three sizes and two colors, you would specify the finite options as shown below, skipping a line between groups.
Pages
You can decide which pages you want each product to appear on. If you have a shirts page and a specials page, for example, you may want your T-shirts to appear on both.More information page
If you check the box to display a more information page, the name and image for your product become a hotlink that leads the shopper to a seperate page containing additional information. A more info page is perfect for displaying a larger image or a long block of text which would look unattractive or make the page load too slowly if it were on the regular product page. [Under the more info page appears the product formatting information.]
Add Multiple Products
To save time, you can add several products at once. Specify the number of products you want to add, then select the fields you have information for. If you only need to specify name, price, and description, you don't need to load a huge page containing all the other fields that you aren't editing.
Edit Product
This option allows you to change or add information to an already existing product. To learn about the different fields, see "add product" above.
Select Sub-Products
You can create a listing of several related products under a larger product grouping, such as Beans: 12 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz. This is a useful system whenever there are similar products with different prices. If they have the same price, it is often better to use the "ordering options" feature (see above). Also, sub products can be used for merchandising. If you are selling bicycle tires, you could make inner tubes a sub-product, to remind the shopper that they will also need to buy a tube.
Arrange Sub-Products
This feature allows you to change the order of the sub products.
Power Edit
After selecting multiple products, Power Edit allows you to edit one or more of their attributes. If you would like to change the prices for all of your products, select those products, hit the power edit button, and then select name and price from the menu. You can then easily chage every price on one large page.
Delete Product
You can delete one or more products from your database using this feature. You do not need to delete a product to make it not appear in your store, however. If you specify a product appear on no pages, it will exist in your database but not show on your pages. This is good for out-of-stock items. You can specify the page that a product appears on in the "edit product data" page.
